Tips for Getting Your Legendary Cloak Fast

You're a new 90, are coming back to WoW, or decided just now to finally get your legendary cloak. I get question in LFR every week from people who want to know how to get the cloak. I decided to write this so next week when I am asked I can just give them a link to this. I have 10 cloaks now and my 2 new boosted characters are on the last stage of getting their cloaks too, so I consider myself somewhat of an expert. Wowhead has a good guide on the entire process it can be found here. My tips are more about how to optimize your time and what you should be doing if you want to get your cloak as fast as possible. Here is another detailed place for the steps of the questline http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/11581088126

How long does it take? If you are really determined and lucky it will take you about 2 months, maybe a week less. Here is a breakdown of the different parts of the questline and How long they will take.

  • Collect 10 Sigils of Power/10 Sigils of Wisdom - (1-2 weeks) Drop off all bosses except the last 6 in SOO.
  • Earn 3000 VP - Takes 3 weeks if you cap it every week.
  • Collect 20 Secrets of the Empire (2-3 weeks) Drop off all bosses in TOT and first 8 in SOO
  • Collect 12 Titan Runestones (2-3 Weeks) Drop off last 6 bosses in in TOT and first 8 in SOO

Day 1 at level 90

You need to pick up three quests at the shrine.

  • Stranger in a strange land - starts the legendary questline and that quest guy is on the balcony inside the shrine, next to the innkeeper
  • Thunder Calls - Right outside and in front of the shrine pick up these 2 quests from Sunwalker Dezco. Both these quests are required to complete questline
  • Meet the Scout

After picking up these quests fly right to the tavern in the Mist and turn in "Stranger in a strange land". When you are there make sure you pick up the flight path at the Tavern. If you don't already have the flight path for the Grassy Cline, go and get that flight path as well, you need that Flight path to fly from the shrine to the tavern.

I. Week 1

After you pick up the quest for 10 of each sigil you need to que for all the LFR's it allows you to queue for. Sigils drop from all the LFR's except the last 2, "The underhold" and "Downfall". While you wait for the queue to pop complete all of the following:

1. Get your item level up to 500 so you can queue for SOO this week. Get 496 gear from the Timeless isle. If you still have 483 rings, trinkets, and a weap, but all the rest 496 gear, you will be able to queue for everything but SOO. You can win TOT items, or buy or make 522 BoE's, and you will be at 500. Kill World Bosses for a shot at 522 or higher gear.

2. Go turn in Meet the Scout and do the following quests few quests that follow it until your fleet comes in. It won't take more than 10 min's.

3. Go turn in Thunder calls, and do all the scenarios on the Isle of Thunder. You need to open up those daily quests on the Isle ASAP. Doing the Isle of Thunder daily quests are the best way to raise your Black Prince Rep, which you need to do for the cloak.

If you do all the bosses that drop sigils in the first week you will most likely have all your sigils or be close. You will have to get something off sha in TOES after you collected your 20 sigils but you can do TOES a second time in the first week to get it. If you get all 20 sigils in week 1 make sure you complete the next quest and do TOES a second time that week so that you can start on Test of Valor week 2. You will also have to have your Black Prince rep up to honored before starting your 3000 Valor but since you opened up the daily quest on Isle of thunder, and have been doing them daily, your BP rep should already be there. If you don't want to do the daily quests just kill the animated warriors on the Isle of Thunder. Animated warriors give 75 rep a kill with a darkmoon faire buff and a guild banner. If you see other people killing them group with them if possible to kill them.

II. Week 2 and 3 Goals (starting a Test of Valor)

If you are a few sigils short get your last sigils and you will be on a test a valor. The first 2 weeks you are on the quest "A Test or Valor" you should cap your Valor each week and also complete all or SOO3. The reason you want to do SOO3 in the first 2 weeks is that week 3 of a test of valor you will want to get your 1000 valor from doing anything but TOT or SOO1 or SOO2. if you did SOO3 already you can que for SOO3 and SOO4 together to get Valor. If you hate LFR's you can get your Valor however you like and skip this part.

*** If you are not sure how many valor points you are into "A Test of Valor" you can open up your achievements and go to Quests, Panderia, and scroll down to A Test of Valor. That will show you how many valor points you have for the the quest so far.

III. Week 4 Goals (Last week of a Test of Valor)

The last week of a Test of Valor get your 1000 valor off anything but TOT's or SOO's. If you don't get week 3 valor points from TOT or SOO1 or SOO2 you can start collecting Secrets this same week. Start early in the week because there are 2 PVP Bg's you have to win after turning in a Test of Valor, before you can start Collecting Secrets of the Empire. You can get Secrets off all the bosses in TOT and the first 8 bosses in SOO. Since you got your valor off other things you can now go do TOT and the first 8 in SOO and get Secrets off them.

Tips

*** You need to start doing the isle of Thunder quests daily until your Black Prince rep is exalted. These give you Valor and killing mobs on the Isle of Thunder raise your Black Prince Rep. ***

*** It's best to do LFR's on a Tues if at all possible. The que's are faster and the groups are more successful. ***"

*** You can kill bosses in LFR, Normal, or Heroic, but you only have 1 chance for Sigils, Secrets or Titan Runestones per boss, per week. Killing a boss the second time will not give you a chance at any of those items that week.

*** Coin rolls will not give you Sigils, Secrets of Runestones
